Comenius East Midlands is one of a network of 9 Comenius Centres throughout England. They are headed by Comenius Network Manager Peter Barron, who is based at CILT, the National Centre for Languages in London.

At Comenius East Midlands the Regional Manager is Gill West and the Administrator is Lyn Palmer. They can both be contacted on 01509 416990.

The Comenius East Midlands Primary Languages Consultant, Michaela Howard and Netword Manager, Pauline Swanton, are also based at Quorn.

Our Administrator at Bishop Grosseteste University College is Debbie Reynolds.

We work closely with other languages professionals throughout the East Midlands and Jo Darley, Leicestershire Primary Languages Consultant is based here at Quorn Hall.

Primary Languages Consultants in the East Midlands have joined together to form the East Midlands Primary Languages Consortium and meet regularly at Comenius East Midlands.

Peter Barron - Head of Regional Services, CILT, The National Centre for Languages

Peter Barron is Head of Regional Services at CILT where his role is to link national initiatives with regional delivery. He brokers links between CILT and the Comenius Network and the Regional Language Network which are CILT's regional interfaces with the worlds of education and business respectively. The work also ties in with the network of primary Regional Support Groups and the KS3 Strategic Learning Networks. Pete, a languages graduate with two years' TEFL experience in Senegal and France, has been with CILT for almost four years. Previously he has worked for the English Speaking Union, the European Commission, the Charlemagne Group and the Tribal Group developing skills in regional networking, conference management, training and business development.
