MUNDI Global Education Centre in Nottingham is organising a regional event on 30th June 2008 for educational authorities and practitioners interested in learning about school linking and its possibilities for bringing a global dimension into the curriculum and teaching modern foreign languages, both key education policies in the UK.

We have managed to secure a very interesting line-up of keynote speakers and there will be stimulating workshops running throughout the day (see conference flyer and registration form).

Are you a primary school teacher who teaches or will teach French in KS2?

The French Institute and the French Embassy in London have put together a training project for you !

A language training with a plus
for primary school teachers.

A training which will blend newly acquired language skills
with your practitioner’s competence.

Available from September 2008.

An enthusiastic team of experienced and committed pedagogues has worked on a two level program offering you a language training, allowing you to reach level A2 (European Framework) blended with an interactive training in the pedagogy of French as a Foreign Language in primary schools. Those two levels are closely related and complementary: you will acquire language skills which will be directly transferable to your classroom needs. The training’s content constantly wavers between a teaching of generic French and that of a more specific, more didactic language.  The entire didactic approach of this method will strictly follow the Key Stage 2 Framework.

The Education Office (Consejería de Educación) of the Andalusian regional government (Junta de Andalucía) is offering teachers in Great Britain and Ireland whose mother tongue is English 20 placements to teach in Andalusian Primary Schools starting September 08. The schools are all part of the Andalusian Bilingual Education Scheme.

The joint programme, coordinated by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía, aims to offer prospective teachers an opportunity to live in the country, get acquainted with the Education System and engage with Andalusian teachers and students, sharing with them their own language and culture.

You can learn about the conditions of employment, placements, etc. at www.mec.es/exterior/uk
